Meeting Jayme!

Monday was a very special day. Jenny's friend, Jayme, was in Wisconsin visiting her parents (with her husband, Cory, and darling daughter, Scout) and took the time to spend a whole morning with us! Unfortunately, Scout wasn't feeling well, so Hamilton didn't get to meet her--but that just gives us a reason to visit Denver someday!

Hamilton seems quite happy in Jayme's arms.

We joined Jayme as she met her friend, Megan, for lunch. Hamilton enjoyed some z-z-z-z-z's while the adults enjoyed a beautiful day along the Chicago River.

Trying for the Thumb

Hamilton has discovered his thumb! He's not quite an expert at getting it in his mouth, as the video shows, but the few times that he has, he quite enjoys it. Notice how he doesn't give up, even after getting frustrated.

Central IL . . . Here We Come!

Hamilton made his first visit to the Springfield area this last weekend. Since his father and his Oompah Murphy are both central Illinois guys (from Chatham and Springfield), it's fair to say that the boy's got some roots there.

While in town, he got to meet Great Aunt Tabby, honorary uncle Ryan, and, of course, see his Grandparents Whitney.

One Month

Hamilton is one month old today. Here are some quick pictures to show you how much has changed (and some things that look remarkably similar).

Baby's Got the Blues (Kinda?)

Hamilton ventured out for his first live music experience at the Chicago Blues Festival last Sunday. We arrived just in time to catch some of B.B. King's set at Grant Park. To be honest, Hamilton did not really respond to the music all that much. They say that you have to have lived the blues to understand the blues, and since he's only three weeks old, he really hasn't seen that much adversity yet.


We didn't see much from so far away, but Hamilton sure looked cool in his guitars and drums sleeper.

Meet the Family...Part II

Hamilton has been shown so much love in his first couple of weeks. This weekend, he got to meet (and be loved on by) Grammy and see Granddad Whitney again. He also met Uncle William, Aunt Kia, and three of his cousins--Joshua, Saraina, and Kadin. He had no idea he had so many people who were looking forward to meeting him!





Hamilton is instantly comfortable in Grammy's arms.
