Representing the Great State of Texas...

Aunt Cristina and cousins Emily and Allison traveled 1,000 miles from Central Texas to meet Hamilton (and new cousin Paloma in Aurora) this weekend. We had a lovely day and Hamilton was showered with love by some sweet cousins,a loving aunt, and, of course, his doting Grammy.

Aunt Cristina has found the special trick for getting this boy to sleep. He was so at home in her arms.















Emily is quite comfortable with the camera. Hamilton, on the other hand, seems to think that mom is the paparazzi.
















Hamilton is studying Allison's face. He seems to know this is someone he is going to love.

Enjoying a Summer Evening

We had our first family outing to Millenium Park's Pritzker Pavilion for the Pitchfork Music Festival Preview and had a chance to sample some music by bands from around the country and world. Really, it was a great excuse to spend time together, have a picnic dinner, and enjoy a warm evening and some live music.

Hamilton's nap didn't seem disturbed by the music.

Play Date

Hamilton had his first play date yesterday--though Hamilton mostly observed the playing. Stone and his mom Heather stopped by for a lovely visit. Hamilton enjoyed watching Stone show off all of his new tricks--that is until it tired him out. It's ok, Hamilton, soon you'll be playing with all of those toys, too!

Meeting Jayme!

Monday was a very special day. Jenny's friend, Jayme, was in Wisconsin visiting her parents (with her husband, Cory, and darling daughter, Scout) and took the time to spend a whole morning with us! Unfortunately, Scout wasn't feeling well, so Hamilton didn't get to meet her--but that just gives us a reason to visit Denver someday!

Hamilton seems quite happy in Jayme's arms.

We joined Jayme as she met her friend, Megan, for lunch. Hamilton enjoyed some z-z-z-z-z's while the adults enjoyed a beautiful day along the Chicago River.

Trying for the Thumb

Hamilton has discovered his thumb! He's not quite an expert at getting it in his mouth, as the video shows, but the few times that he has, he quite enjoys it. Notice how he doesn't give up, even after getting frustrated.
